Crazy in Zim

Salibonani!

This week was another crazy week! Zimbabwe is going through some crisis’s! There is no cash in the banks or anywhere! The past couple weeks, the lines at the banks have been insane and people even stay over night waiting for cash. And there has been a water shortage in Bulawayo so they cut the water for a few days, some places longer than others. Thankfully the place we stay hasn’t run out of water though! The other day though we almost ran our tank dry looking for petrol! Finally the ZL’s showed us a filling station with fuel we could use our coupons at.

We’ve had a couple little rain storms which is great! Hopefully it starts coming more!

For the baptisms on Saturday, the branch filled the font early because of the water problems so there would be water to use, but by the time we got there, it had leaked! It was quite a hassle, but at the end of the day, we finally managed to get transportation for everyone and we were able to go to the Mpopoma chapel and have the baptism there for Khulu, Paul and Sheperd! It was powerful.

Then yesterday on the way to church, a car pointed out to us that we had a flat tire. So we pulled over and it wasn’t just flat… it was FLAT. So the 4 of us sisters were left on the side of the road to change a tire by ourselves. No problem!! 🙂 Just after we got the old tire off, a guy pulled over to help and finished for us.

I loved reading about faith this week and one of my favorite scriptures is Ether 12:4 “Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.”
Faith not only brings hope, but leads us to always doing good. How I love teaching people about the restored gospel and helping them see that even in these kind of conditions they are in right now in Zimbabwe, if they have faith, they can have so much hope.

I love you all and hope the week is great!
